What's Next?

Stuck Inside  It was really bound to happen one way or another, you know how word travels out here, so imagine germs and sicknesses spreading. It was only a matter of time, COVID-19 has forced us all into quarantine and "social-distancing". Even in deadly results, which is the daunting part of this all. So much uncertainty and confusion but yet we still got time for jokes about "Corona Time a.k.a Corona-  the Mexican beer". Trying to find motivation during this time can be difficult especially when many issues are being exposed due to the injustices that the government and white entitled people that make it harder for black/Latinx people to thrive. When there is only a finger pointed at you because of your race, where you live, or who you were with- there are no real helping hands in this system. Normal life does not exist, 'normal' is an idea we create to keep from believing that everyone is not the same. Not all of us have the same struggles, benefits

Mental Health in Communities

Purpose & Value A lot of thoughts linger in our heads all day, whether they're about global warming or buying those pair pants that make your ass look REALLY bomb. There's more to your day than usual because of emotions. Anything that is brought up throughout your day makes you feel some way. Angry, aroused, upset, or curious- whatever it may be, do you think you're healthily moving forward from that thought+emotion with tools catered for you?  Our minds all function differently, therefore what can work for you will not always work for the next person. It's important to notice that this may be the case, but not everyone knows that it works this way.  What's interesting about this discussion and the audience this is targeted for is resources for better mental health are not catered to helping young, Womxn of color. They for one were not priced so that low-income communities of color to thrive, and secondly, were not even located within the communities

Why It's Worth It

I'd like to express the amount of difficulty it took me to release a post. Navigating who I am as a Woman of Color is never easy, nor is sharing and writing it down for everyone to read. However, I continued to write and think about the "why?" This blog isn't simply to write and share with you all just anything.  As much as it may seem that way, these posts are the truth, a heartfelt message, and a platform to speak of experiences that are typical in the day of a life of W.O.C yet unusual to outsiders. The point is to release truth to you, it isn't promised to be the happiest BUT it is meant to open up yourself and know that as women we didn't choose the life we're living. However, all we can do is show not only others but ourselves that we possess strength and the capability to overcome obstacles. On that note, I ask all of you reading this to care for yourselves. Care about the process more than the result. "It's not about what you do in lif

Through Your Eyes

Expression is necessary for growth, the access to having an open-minded audience and no control from outside forces is a priority. As women of color, rooted within you are beliefs that you must share with the world. To spread your purpose, who you truly are.  As I've observed and experienced on my own, expressing ourselves as women comes at a cost. It comes at a cost because of the inability to be understood as a woman of color. That whichever manner we communicate to others, only a few will appreciate the effort. How it can be a struggle to open up yourself to the public and have a fear of not being heard.  Why is it hard for women of color to express themselves?  We live in a society that dismisses not only just women but women of color. The color of one's skin holds them back from ever being able to attempt at expressing herself. The demographics of a woman could hold her back. The inaccessibility to resources, basic necessities of life (food, education, clothi

Why?

"The Rising of Women Is the Awakening of Everybody."- Dr. Tererai Rent I write to an audience whom I have no connection to, other than them coming to this very piece of writing to see what it is that I have to say.  Well, you're here now. Why? Out of curiosity maybe. Or because you relate to my way of thinking and were searching for other powerful women to talk to. Whatever reason it may be, you're present , in whichever space reading this . Thank you, I appreciate your existence. I appreciate your ability to overcome battles and issues bigger than anything you could have ever imagined. As I also have done so, congratulations to us women of all pathways of life.  Now, I'm writing to tell you this is just the beginning of THE BEGINNING . I have goals and dreams, both of which cannot launch without me starting somewhere. So I chose to start here, on a blog. My purpose in life is to uplift and empower women. Never allow women to bring other women down, neve
